The result keeps Odd in contention for promotion from the 1. Division, with the club sitting fourth in the table heading into the busy autumn stretch of fixtures.

Billed as the Publikumskampen — a flagship matchday experience designed to draw fans in numbers — Saturday's fixture lived up to its billing off the pitch as well as on it. Direct shuttle buses ran to the ground from Gulset and Porsgrunn, while free entry was on offer to encourage even greater attendance at the 13,500-capacity stadium in Skien.
Head coach Per Frandsen had spoken before kick-off of his desire to deliver a great experience both on and off the pitch. The dramatic comeback goal after the interval, met by a roar from the terraces, suggested the crowd played their part in lifting the side.

With the draw secured, attention now turns to the remainder of Odd's home schedule at Skagerak Arena. Egersund are next to visit on 20 September, before further home matches against Bryne (11 October), Strømmen (18 October) and Sandnes Ulf (1 November) complete the home campaign.
