Odd and Sandnes ULF share six goals in Skagerak Arena finale
Odd came from behind twice to draw 3-3 with Sandnes ULF in the last regular home league game of the season. Sanel Bojadzic scored the equaliser from the penalty spot with three minutes left. One league round remains, away at Haugesund.
A fast start, then a Sandnes response
Odd made the start they wanted on Sunday evening and took the lead after twelve minutes. The advantage lasted only eight minutes. Sundgot equalised for Sandnes ULF, and the visitors went ahead after 27 minutes. That forced the home side to chase the game in front of their own supporters.
Odd got back level before the break. After a good attack, Kasper Andersen found Sanel Bojadzic at the far post, and the striker finished firmly to make it 2-2 after 38 minutes. That was the score at half-time.
Penalty drama after the break
Both teams kept looking for a winner after the restart. Sandnes ULF were awarded a penalty after 58 minutes, following an incident in which Godwill Ambrose tried to clear up after a loss of possession. The visitors scored from the spot and led for the third time.
Odd responded by pushing the team higher up the pitch and putting pressure on their opponents. Five minutes before full time, a shot from Kasper Andersen was blocked by a hand, and the referee pointed to the spot.
Bojadzic took responsibility and sent the penalty in confidently to make it 3-3 after 87 minutes. It was the second time in the match that Odd had pulled level after trailing.
Late chance goes wide
Odd still went looking for a winner. In stoppage time Bojadzic had another opportunity when the keeper had to parry a hard shot from Villads Rasmussen, but this time his effort went wide.
The match ended 3-3, and Odd took one point from the final regular league game of the season at Skagerak Arena.
Table and what comes next
The draw leaves Odd fifth in the table with 46 points from 29 games. Bryne are sixth on 43 points. Leaders Haugesund have 65 points. Sandnes ULF, the visitors, are 13th on 30 points, level with Sogndal in 12th. Odd's earlier media preview described them as a team fighting for survival.
The result closes the regular home programme at the stadium. Odd have one league round left, an away game at Haugesund next Sunday.
