Ticket sales are under way for Odd's third-round NM cup tie against Sandefjord at Skagerak Arena on Wednesday, October 28. The club is calling on supporters to fill the stands as the team chases a place in the next round against its Vestfold rivals.

Tickets on sale

Odd have opened ticket sales for the third-round NM tie against Sandefjord at Skagerak Arena. The match is on Wednesday, October 28, with kick-off at 6 pm.

The club is urging supporters to turn out in numbers as the team chases a place in the next round of the cup. The opponents are rivals from Vestfold, which adds extra edge to a knockout night in Skien.

A cup night in the middle of a league run

The tie comes at a busy point in the season. Odd sit fifth in the league with 45 points from 27 games, and the cup offers a different route to success alongside the league fight.

The team has already shown it can handle cup football this autumn. Odd went through against Notodden in an earlier round, and head coach Per Frandsen spoke afterwards about how pleased he was with the response in that tie.

Most recently, Odd beat Bryne 2-1 at home on October 11 and then lost 1-2 to Strømmen on October 18, after leading at half-time. The Sandefjord game gives the squad an early chance to respond in front of the home crowd.

The stage for the tie

Skagerak Arena has been Odd's home ground since the stadium officially opened in 2011. It stands on the same site as the old Odd Stadion, and the club has played on this ground since 1923. The pitch was turned 90 degrees when the new arena was built, and natural grass was replaced by artificial turf with undersoil heating. The playing surface measures 105 by 68 metres.

Capacity is currently 11,767. The record attendance of 12,436 was set on August 20, 2015, when Borussia Dortmund visited for a Europa League play-off.

The arena's restaurant doubles as the VIP area on home match days. The conference facilities can hold between 10 and 500 people.

What comes next

After the Sandefjord tie, Odd return to league action at home against Sandnes ULF on Sunday, November 1, at 5 pm. That makes two more home dates at Skagerak Arena within a few days.

In October the club has also been playing its home matches in a special kit to mark World Mental Health Day, in cooperation with Kirkens SOS. Supporters heading to the cup tie can expect the build-up to follow the same pattern as recent home games, with the focus on getting a full stand behind the team.
